What’s the link between CBUK and Tennyson Insurance?
As it says in the logo CBUK is indeed a ‘Tennyson Insurance Initiative’. They came up with the original idea, brought together the partners who contribute the content and then built the site. They also fund the ongoing management and development of the site. Throughout this process they have had a great deal of input and support from their two primary CBUK partners – NAVCA and beprofessional Ltd.
Why have Tennyson Insurance done this?
We’ll let Simon Wright, joint MD of TI, explain:
‘When we began working with charities and voluntary groups we realised that Human Resources and Health and Safety compliance were a real issue for many of them. On one fateful day I spent the morning listening in at a seminar where a council officer demanded that local charities improve their performance and in the afternoon while travelling home I read a report that pointed out that charities suffer from a disproportionately high percentage of tribunals when compared to commercial organisations. At the same time we were looking for a way to get our name known, we had considered conventional advertising but this seemed unimaginative and did nothing to help our customers. The idea of Charity Builder gradually took shape over the coming weeks and, when we received a positive response from beprofessional.com (core Human Resources and Health & Safety interactive content) we knew that we had to do it.’
